From William Carey to today’s gospel workers – discover the missionary roots and future of BBCS.
Our Missionary Heritage
BBCS was born out of the missionary movement led by Dr. William Carey, who arrived in Bengal in the late 18th century. In 1806, the first Baptist Church in Bangladesh was established in Sadamahal, Dinajpur, under the leadership of Ignatius Fernandez.
For over two centuries, we’ve continued that legacy – planting churches, preaching the Gospel, and demonstrating the love of Christ through action.
Today, our Baptist Mission Training Centre (BMTC), in partnership with the College of Christian Theology Bangladesh (CCTB), is preparing 100 new gospel workers over the next 10 years. BMTC offers diplomas in Applied Mission and professional development for pastors and evangelists.
We believe every believer is called to mission, and we are committed to training and sending missionaries throughout Bangladesh and beyond.
