Baptist Girl’s Hostel in Charge
A common understanding in Bangladesh has been that ‘the women’s position is in the kitchen’. That means for many women that they have to serve mostly in the household. However, it is quite impossible to develop the family, nation or country without involving the women in the development process.
That is why SHED Board established the girls’ hostel in Dinajpur in 1996, to address the fact that the girl’s from indigenous people groups needed education for their development and for the benefit of the community. The purpose of the hostel is to give educational opportunity to the orphaned girls of the tribal communities; providing their basic needs and nurturing them in an environment where their potential can find expression and where they can flourish and bloom towards a better life.
