Women’s Department

Women’s Activities

The women are often the most active and faithful members of our churches. They run many different kinds of programmes in the city and village churches, such as Bible study, worship, and prayer meetings. Locally, the women are also socially engaged. They provide leadership and empowerment training for other women, and arrange training and awareness discussions on subjects such as trauma healing, HIV/AIDS, drug addiction and other matters impacting the people. We thank God for so many women who are working hard for the development of the church and for building up the family.

Women’s Camps

When the women get together for annual camp it is always a joyful occasion. Usually the 10 ABCS’s will organize such a camp for their area or join together to provide this opportunity for worship, teaching, fellowship, games and a chance to eat, pray and share together.

Training Women Leaders

BBCS believes in the recognition of the God-given calling of women and men. We have a 2032 goal of commissioning 20 women for Pastoral ministry and are actively training women as well as men at the Baptist Mission Training Centre. TEE study, theological training and mission training are all open to women. Women have many unique opportunities to work in ministry in different ways to men as they serve the church and community.

Organisation

The women’s department is supported by their secretary, Shilpi Baroi who works in the central BBCS office in Dhaka. There is a committee made up of representatives from the different ABCS’s.
