Leadership
Bangladesh Baptist Church Sangha is first and foremost about ministry and mission. We recognize that the care, teaching and leadership of God’s people in mission is most important and we highly honor those who are called and trained for commissioned and ordained ministry: namely our Pastors, mission workers, Superintendent Pastors and our General Secretary. Ordained ministries are people called by God to provide spiritual leadership for the church.
Our Baptist conviction is that all believers are called to serve and share in the responsibilities of the church, the body of Christ. Therefore, for maintaining our shared life and good order across the churches, and for specific roles on committees we call lay leaders (by a process of prayer, discernment and election) for designated periods. The BBCS President, Vice President, Council members and Board members are called to these roles as servants of the church.
All leaders are responsible for their good conduct and the reputation in society of the church and BBCS.
General Secretary: Reverend John Karmakar

Greetings on behalf of the Bangladesh Baptist Church Sangha. It is my privilege to serve Christ as the General Secretary of BBCS.
I am married with 2 children. I am passionate about reading, learning and preaching the gospel. I grew up in Barisal and gained my qualifications to Masters level in Barisal. My theological training (BTh, MA) were from CCTB in Bangladesh, at ACTS in India (MDiv) and in specialist training in the UK and Switzerland.
I have had the pleasure of working in finance and administration with World Vision and Liebenzell Mission International before coming to serve at BBCS as the Assistant General Secretary and now General Secretary. It is my first joy and calling to serve as a Pastor, for many years in Barisal and now in Dhaka.
President: Christopher Adhikari (Wing Commander (Retired))
