Church & Community Transformation
Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” Luke 4:18-19
What would it look like if our communities were transformed by the blessing of God? What would be happening? What would the relationships be like? What would people experience and do together for the good of the community?
This is what community transformation is all about. We are working along with our partners TearFund and APBF to see transformation in both the north and south of Bangladesh. This begins with our personal vision and extends to our families, our churches and our communities. All can be transformed by the love of God.
Already many of our churches are on this pathway of change. Two hundred and thirty two churches are actively engaged. It involves a process of study and learning together, and most importantly we engage with our neighbours and facilitate working together. We start from the place of looking at what resources we have and how we can use our resources for the transformation of communities.
Family Spiritual Development
BBCS are working with partners to provide regional workshops for the spiritual strengthening of young people,children and families. In the last year we have provided training and day camps in several districts of Bangladesh. Programmes have been run for child and family development; the moral development of young people; women’s leadership and empowerment.
