Baptist Mission Boy’s Hostel in Charge
SHED Board is presently operating one boys’ hostel & one girls hostel in Dinajpur under its education program.
A large number of inhabitants of the villages in the northern districts of Bangladesh, namely Dinajpur, Rangpur and Rajshahi are ultra-poor and deprived of the mainstream of development. As long ago as 1796 Baptist Mission boys’ hostel was established in Dinajpur with the financial assistant of British business man, Mr. Robert Arthington. The aim was to improve the socio-economic status of church people through providing proper lodging and education for their children who were poor or orphaned. This work continues to this day. Through the hostel many of the boys from marginalized families are benefitting from the opportunity to obtain higher education.
Over the years, SHED Board / BBCS have improved the hostel facilities, most recently with the support of KNH Germany. The accommodation, food, clothes, schooling, treatment and other necessaries are provided for the benefit of the boys and for the future well-being of their families.
