Where we Work

I saw a great crowd from every nation and tribe and people and language…

BBCS work across the whole of Bangladesh. We have 10 regional associations (ABCS’s) that cover every district of the country, each with a regional minister, a central Baptist compound and a number of churches (between 13 and 80) that are in association together.

We also have a head office and central pastorate in Dhaka from which the work is coordinated and supported.

Bangladesh is a country of many diverse people and languages. Our Sangha family reflects this. Among our 390 churches, many of them have been growing among Santal, Mru and other people groups in the northern and Hill Tracts districts of Bangladesh. Within the Sangha there are 16 mother tongue languages spoken and we seek to share the good news of Jesus Christ among all the people of Bangladesh.

Many of the churches have been established in remote and poorer parts of the country and part of our mission has been the holistic development of the churches and their communities. Therefore, through our Social, Health, Education and Development Board (SHED) we have developed hostel programmes that give students from low-income families and those who have lost their parents, opportunity to study at school, college and university.

We believe that our work reflects the commission of Jesus that we should take the gospel to all people and especially to those who are the most marginalized.
